As a Corporate IT System Engineer you will:

  • Have the responsibility of taking ownership of 2nd and 3rd level support tickets, change requests and new incoming demands. Analyzing, planning and solving them in collaboration with your direct colleagues, our suppliers or other internal teams will be part of your daily tasks. Follow-up, reporting and providing feedback to our customers will be natural.
  • Be the end responsible for the creation and maintenance of images for deployment of workstations in the Belgian office and its subsidiaries. The image deployment has to be maximally automated and maintenance needs to be as easy as possible.
  • Be innovative and proactively analyze the current Corporate IT environment in a critical way and propose up-scaling and improvements on the overall environment.
  • Be the backup for the first line support in case somebody is ill or absent.

Your role:

  • You take all the necessary actions to ensure high availability of the internal applications and infrastructure in line with the business goals and SLAs;
  • 2nd – 3th line troubleshooting on the different components of Corporate IT infrastructure;
  • Packaging/rollout/installation of  new or updated software components or hardware drivers;
  • Imaging and automation of workstation deployment;
  • Perform operational tasks like Windows updates, monitoring backups, tape handling, monitoring infrastructure components, deploy anti-virus updates,  …
  • Provide backup for Corporate IT Support Engineer function and perform internal IT support;
  • Create and maintain accurate system documentation and asset management;
  • Proactively analyze the Corporate IT environment and propose improvements on the environment. Document and execute these changes after having them presented and approved by management. Documentation needs to be clear and simple to easily hand over to first line support.

YOUR QUALITIES

Background

  • For this challenging IT function, we are looking for a talented and passionate person with a system engineering background whose technical knowledge and skill are his/her main driver;
  • Higher education in IT/Engineering or equivalent by experience;
  • At least 3 years of experience as a system engineer;

Languages

  • Excellent level of English
  • Fluent in French and/or Dutch is an asset

Technical Skills

  • General knowledge of IT Infrastructure (servers, network and storage)
  • Strong affinity with Microsoft client and server operating systems, including Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows Server 2003, 2008 and 2012.
  • Must have good experience working with Microsoft Active Directory and Group policies
  • Experience with messaging and collaboration (Exchange,  Trendmicro)
  • Experience with designing, configuring, and using workstation management software such as Altiris, SCCM, SCOM, App-V or WDS and/or other tools for fully-automated workstation deployment
  • Experience with scripting software packages (MSI, vbscript, powershell)
  • Have a good understanding of networking technologies (routers, switches, proxy, firewalls)
  • Experience with Voice over IP telephony System like AVAYA, MITEL
  • Experience with Backup software like Backup Exec
