We are currently recruiting for a Principal Design Engineer – Hydraulics on a fixed term contract basis until the end of 2016.

This role is to provide technical leadership in high level analysis and design of new and modified components and subsystems in accordance with engineering standards and project scope.  

Duties of the role include: 

  1. Researches, studies, and proposes use of new technologies to be used in the development of new and improved products.
  2. Maintain effective communication with suppliers, internal and external customers, and outside resources concerning technical issues.
  3. Evaluate designs for performance, safety, and reliability.
  4. Create and maintain project documentation for analysis, research, and historical records.
  5. Perform engineering analysis to support the selection of parts, components, and materials that meet requirements.
  6. Provide technical assistance for prototype, pilot, and production support.
  7. Analyze and resolve issues reported to Engineering via verbal or written communication.
  8. Provide guidance to team members to ensure the appropriate engineering analysis is performed and documented.
  9. Prepare technical proposals, quotations, reports, and presentations.

The ideal candidate will have: 

  • a degree in engineering
  • Prior Hydraulics design experience
  • CAD skills – preferably CREO
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Possess a strong mechanical knowledge of vehicles and related systems
